The improvement in QOL index was higher among patients undergoing GA peel followed by TCA and LA peel. Adverse effects were noted mostly with TCA peels followed by GA and LA peel. Thus, GA and TCA peels were equally efficacious and more effective than LA peels. LA peel had minimum side effects and better tolerability than GA and TCA peels. The…[Read more]

Nearly 40% of women with CIN 1 were lost to follow-up at 24 months. Adherence to the follow-up should be emphasized to all women. Intensive interventions to improve adherence and clinical outcome might be an option, particularly among women with poor compliance.

Magnetic skyrmions can be driven by an applied spin-polarized electron current that exerts a spin-transfer torque on the localized spins constituting the skyrmion. However, the longitudinal dynamics is plagued by the skyrmion Hall effect, which causes the skyrmions to acquire a transverse velocity component. We show how to use spin-orbit…[Read more]

No marked depletion of mtDNA nor mitochondrial mass was caused by the splicing variant. However, defects that the impaired capacity of OXPHOS, reduced ATP generation, increased ROS and decreased membrane potential were observed in the mutant cells, which promoted a ubiquitin-binding mitophagy instead of apoptosis. Conclusions The novel splicing…[Read more]

]. In Sr2CrO2Cr2As2, electron diffraction and high resolution powder X-ray diffraction data show no evidence for a structural distortion that would allow the two Cr2+ sublattices to couple, but high resolution neutron powder diffraction data suggest a small incommensurability between the magnetic structure and the crystal structure, which may…[Read more]

Twenty patients underwent adjuvant radiotherapy with a median follow-up of 12.5 (2-20) years. Of 18 patients who received radiation in a curative setting, one (6%) patient developed thyroid cancer, and one (6%) patient developed sarcoma in the radiation field. This risk for radiation-induced malignancy associated with LFS was higher for both…[Read more]

Differential scanning fluorimetry (DSF) is a method used for assessing the interaction of ligands with proteins. In most cases binding of a ligand to proteins tends to increase the melting temperature (Tm) of the protein involved. However, in the case of strigolactone receptors (e.g., D14, AtD14, DAD2, RMS3) from plants, the Tm tends to be reduced…[Read more]

Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) and the cell wall skeleton (CWS) derived from BCG are known to enhance nonspecific immune activation and anti-cancer immunity; however, their roles as a vaccine adjuvant are largely unknown. Here, we report that BCG-CWS acts as a strong immune adjuvant by promoting the protective immune responses in mouse models with…[Read more]
