Conventionally, the detection of L. monocytogenes and B. cereus is often performed by enzyme link immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). These techniques require trained operators and expert, expensive reagents and specific containment. In this study, three types of samples, namely, TSB media, L. monocytogenes (serotype 4b American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) 13792), and B. cereus (ATCC) 10876, were used for this experiment. Prior to measurement using the e-nose, each bacterium was inoculated in TSB at 1 × 103-104 CFU/mL, followed by incubation for 48 h. To evaluate the performance of the e-nose, the measured data were then analyzed with chemometric models, namely linear and quadratic discriminant analysis (LDA and QDA), and support vector machine (SVM). In the present study, in order to find putative correlation between low HDL-C and hypertension, 4552 subjects (20-80 years old) were selected from the Korean National Health And Nutrition Examination Survey 2017 (KNHANES VII-2, n = 2017 men, n = 2535 women). They were classified into four levels of blood pressure, ranging from BP1 (normal, below 120/80 mmHg for systolic BP (SBP)/diastolic BP (DBP), BP2 (prehypertension, 120/80 to 139/89 mmHg), BP3 (hypertension stage 1, 140/90-159/99 mmHg), and BP4 (hypertension stage 2, higher than 160/100 mmHg). Generally, in the total population, a higher SBP level and age were associated with a lower HDL-C in both genders. However, DBP was not associated with age in men. In the total population, Pearson’s correlation analysis revealed that SBP (r = -0.188, p less then 0.001) and DBP (r = -0.198, p less then 0.001) showed negative correlations with percentage of HDL-C in total cholesterol (TC), HDL-C/TC (%). In both genders, HDL-C gradually decreased with age and HDL-C/TC (%) was more accurate in expressing a correlation with BP. Women showed a more distinct decrease in HDL-C with an elevation of BP and age than men. Both elevation of DBP and SBP were associated with a decrease in HDL-C, around 2.3-2.4 mg/dL, between normal range and hypertension 2 stage. The percentage of HDL-C in TC was more significantly associated with a change in SBP and DBP in both genders.The main objective of this analysis was to evaluate (1) implant survival, (2) biologic complications, and (3) demographics associated with zygomatic implants placed according to the zygomatic anatomy-guided approach (ZAGA). This retrospective multicenter study reviewed data from the charts of 82 consecutive patients who had received 182 zygomatic implants. Patients were fully edentulous (62.2%), partially edentulous (22.0%), or had failing dentition (15.9%). Most patients (87.5%) did not have previous sinusitis and 11.3% had been previously treated for it. Additionally, about half of the patients (53.8%) did not present periodontal pathology, and one-third (36.3%) did, but were subsequently treated. Most implants (93.8%) were loaded immediately, i.e., within 48 h of placement. Implants were followed for 10.5 ± 7.2 months, and all were recorded as surviving and stable at last follow-up. Post-operative complications were infrequent and included sinusitis (10.1%) and peri-implant hyperplasia (0.8%).
