6 months, CI 95% 27.3-57.9) compared with patients without depression (55 months, CI 95%, 50.9-59.1) (Log-Rank
0.034). In the unadjusted model, the risk of heart complications increased with patients that have comorbidities, such as diabetes (HR 2.78, 95% CI 1.21-6.3) or hypothyroidism (HR 2.5 95% CI 1.09-5.7). Also, patients with post-hospitalization depression at 3 months were 3 times (95% CI 1.023-8.8) more likely to have complications during the follow-up period than nondepressed patients. After risk factor adjustment, the HR for depression was 2.01 (95% CI 0.57-6.9).
Patients with depression at 3 months following the coronary event, presented complications sooner than those without depression.

Authors prove new trapezium type inequality for this new class of functions. We also obtain some refinements of the trapezium type inequality for functions whose first derivative in absolute value at certain power are n-polynomial exponential type p-convex. At the end, some new bounds for special means of different positive real numbers are provided as well. These new results yield us some generalizations of the prior results. Our idea and technique may stimulate further research in different areas of pure and applied sciences. This work aimed to evaluate the effect of ozone washing (maximum concentration 3.5 mgL-1- 5 and 15 min) on Botrytis cinerea decay, physicochemical parameters, bioactive compounds, in vitro and in vivo antioxidant activity, and sensory properties of strawberries cv. Albion throughout refrigerated storage at 5 ± 1 °C. A 5 min long ozonation delayed the onset of B. cinerea infection by 4 days, and significantly reduced its incidence as storage progressed (~17 % lesser than in control at day 8), without impairing physicochemical parameters or sensory quality. This treatment did not affect the antioxidant activity of strawberry extracts neither in in vitro (ORAC and ABTS assays) or in vivo assays using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model organism. Higher ozone doses did not achieve greater reduction of B. cinerea decay throughout the storage period. This study demonstrated that exposing strawberries to a 5 min long aqueous ozone treatment could extend their storability at 5 °C.Carbohydrate-digested rice (CDR) residue, the production waste of electrolyte drinks, contains high levels of proteins (approximately 50% of dry matter). Methods for effectively extracting protein from CDR were investigated in this study by comparing alkaline and enzymatic extraction. Alkaline extraction was performed using different concentrations of sodium hydroxide (NaOH). Enzymatic extraction was performed with either commercial Alcalase® or Flavourzyme®. Protein recovery and solubility, and total soluble protein obtained via each method were compared to determine extraction effectiveness. In addition, extraction factors affecting protein recovery were adjusted to determine the optimal conditions for each method. Alcalase provided the maximum protein recovery (30.04%), while less protein recovery was achieved with 0.1 N NaOH (55 °C), 1 N NaOH (55 °C), and Flavourzyme. Although the protein recovery achieved by 0.1 N NaOH (27.43%) was close to that of the Alcalase method, protein solubility by extraction with 0.1 N NaOH was much lower (23.46%) than that achieved via the enzymatic method (100%). Hence, the total soluble protein resulting from Alcalase extraction was higher than that obtained using either of the alkaline methods. Consequently, Alcalase extraction was determined to be the most effective method for extracting protein from CDR.This study explored the potential impact of rural non-farm income diversification on households’ welfare and adoption of Zai-technology (a proxy for agricultural technology adoption) using primary data collected from agricultural households in the Upper East region of Ghana. We used Propensity Score Matching (PSM) and Inverse-Probability-weighted Regression Adjustment (IPWRA) techniques to estimate welfare and Zai-technology impacts of non-farm income diversification. After controlling for differences in covariates, the results show that non-farm income diversification increases the likelihood of Zai-technology adoption and contributes to significant household welfare gains. We therefore suggest that the activities of agricultural extension services and farmer-based organizations (FBOs) be enhanced as they facilitate the diversification of non-farm incomes, thereby increasing investment in productivity-enhancing technologies (Zai) and household welfare.Incorporating chicken feather fibre (CFF) into natural based-nanocomposite comprising of glycerine plasticized-cassava starch binder with bentonite (BNT) as nanofiller, a thermal insulator (TIN) was synthesized. Central Composite Design (CCD) Response Surface Methodology was employed to carry out the experimental design using two factors (CFF and BNT) along with one response (thermal conductivity) to produce nine materials as insulators, comprising of 0%, 5%, and 10% BNT based on 8 g initial weight of CFF. A sample without CFF was used as the control. Developed thermal insulators were subjected to thermal conductivity tests using Lee’s disc method at a steady state. The best insulator is TIN-4 with the lowest thermal conductivity of 0.0313 W/(mK) and the highest insulation property of 114.63 m2k/W, while TIN-10 with no CFF has the highest thermal conductivity of 0.0549 W/(mk) and lowest insulation property of 48.1603 m2k/W. Proportionate use of chicken feather fibre in starch-clay nanocomposite will help synthesize an effective thermal insulator with minimum cost.Alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) is a part of the hormonal stress system with proven cardiovascular effects. Heart rate recovery (HRR) following exercise is strongly correlated to overall fitness and future adverse cardiovascular events. The current study examined the predictive value of alpha-MSH for HRR following exercise testing.Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) on a treadmill was used to measure HR and oxygen consumption (V̇O2) in 16 elite male wrestlers (W), 21 water polo player (WP) and 20 sedentary subjects (C) matched for age. Plasma levels of alpha-MSH were measured by radioimmunoassay technique in four phases of CPET 1) 10 min pre-CPET at rest; 2) at the initation of CPET; 3) at peak CPET; and 4) at the third minute of recovery. The WP group had significantly higher HRR compared to than W and C groups, who did not have significantly different values. Significant difference in alpha-MSH measurements and patterns during CPET between groups was not observed (p > 0.05). RGDyK When combining all three groups, we observed a significant correlation between V̇O2 recovery and alpha-MSH recovery/peak (r = -0.
