The preliminary experiments demonstrate that our designed DEA is able to undergo unidirectional motion, with the nominal strain reaching up to 15.8%. Our work represents an initial step to program deformation of DEAs with metastructures. On account of their excellent capacity to significantly improve the bioavailability and solubility of chemotherapy drugs, amphiphilic block copolymer-based micelles have been widely utilized for chemotherapy drug delivery. In order to further improve the antitumor ability and to also reduce undesired side effects of drugs, cell-penetrating peptides have been used to functionalize the surface of polymer micelles endowed with the ability to target tumor tissues. Herein, we first synthesized functional polyethylene glycol-polylactic acid (PEG-PLA) tethered with maleimide at the PEG section of the block polymer, which was further conjugated with a specific peptide, the transactivating transcriptional activator (TAT), with an approved capacity of aiding translocation across the plasma membrane. Then, TAT-conjugated, paclitaxel-loaded nanoparticles were self-assembled into stable nanoparticles with a favorable size of 20 nm, and displayed a significantly increased cytotoxicity, due to their enhanced accumulation via peptide-mediated cellular association in human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) in vitro. But when further used in vivo, TAT-NP-PTX showed an acceleration of the drug’s plasma clearance rate compared with NP-PTX, and therefore weakened its antitumor activities in the mice model, because of its positive charge, its elimination by the endoplasmic reticulum system more quickly, and its targeting effect on normal cells leading towards being more toxic. So further modification of TAT-NP-PTX to shield TAT peptide’s positive charges may be a hot topic to overcome the present dilemma.Renal calculi are common, with male predilection and androgen exposure potentially increasing the risk of renal calculi. Systemic effects of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) have been observed but the influence of ADT on renal calculi in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is not fully understood. We conducted this population-based study to evaluate the impact of ADT on the subsequent risk of renal calculi. We used the National Health Insurance Research Database of Taiwan to analyze the incidences of renal calculi in ADT patients and non-ADT patients from 2001 to 2013. In total, 3309 patients with PCa were selected. After matching with 11 propensity-score analysis, 758 ADT patients with 758 matched non-ADT controls were enrolled in the final analysis. Demographic characteristics were analyzed and Cox regression analysis for calculating the hazard ratios (HR) was performed for the subsequent risk of renal calculi. Finally, 186 (186/1516, 12.3%) patients with diagnosed renal calculi were detected. ADT patients had a lower risk of subsequent renal calculi with an adjusted HR of 0.38 (7% vs. 17.5%, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.28-0.53; p less then 0.001) in comparison with the non-ADT group. The Kaplan-Meier curve showed significant differences of cumulative incidences of renal calculi. In conclusion, ADT patients had approximately one-third lower risk of subsequent renal calculi. Further studies are warranted to evaluate the clinical significance. With the development of information technology, Internet-of-Things (IoT) and low-altitude remote-sensing technology represented by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are widely used in environmental monitoring fields. In agricultural modernization, IoT and UAV can monitor the incidence of crop diseases and pests from the ground micro and air macro perspectives, respectively. IoT technology can collect real-time weather parameters of the crop growth by means of numerous inexpensive sensor nodes. While depending on spectral camera technology, UAVs can capture the images of farmland, and these images can be utilize for analyzing the occurrence of pests and diseases of crops. In this work, we attempt to design an agriculture framework for providing profound insights into the specific relationship between the occurrence of pests/diseases and weather parameters. Firstly, considering that most farms are usually located in remote areas and far away from infrastructure, making it hard to deploy agricultural IoT devices due to limited energy supplement, a sun tracker device is designed to adjust the angle automatically between the solar panel and the sunlight for improving the energy-harvesting rate. Secondly, for resolving the problem of short flight time of UAV, a flight mode is introduced to ensure the maximum utilization of wind force and prolong the fight time. Thirdly, the images captured by UAV are transmitted to the cloud data center for analyzing the degree of damage of pests and diseases based on spectrum analysis technology. Finally, the agriculture framework is deployed in the Yangtze River Zone of China and the results demonstrate that wheat is susceptible to disease when the temperature is between 14 °C and 16 °C, and high rainfall decreases the spread of wheat powdery mildew. Objective This study evaluated participants’ ability to assemble a computer keyboard while at a cycling workstation. Depending on task completion time, error percentage, and workload based on subjective workload ratings, subjective body discomfort, electroencephalography (EEG) and electrocardiographic (ECG) signals, human performances were compared at four different cycling conditions no cycling, low level cycling (15 km/h), preferred level cycling, and high level cycling (25 km/h). find more Method The experiment consisted of 16 participants. Each participant performed the test four times (each cycling condition) on different days. Results The repeated measure test showed that the alpha and beta EEG signals were high during session times (post) when compared with session times (pre). Moreover, the mean interbeat (R-R) interval decreased after the participants performed the assembly while pedaling, possibly due to the physical effort of cycling. Conclusions Pedaling had no significant effect on body discomfort ratings, task errors, or completion time.
