It will be important to determine whether a specific protein involved in TLS is an optimal target. In addition, an expanded understanding of what current genotoxic chemotherapies synergize with TLS inhibitors will guide the clinical strategies for devising combination therapies.

The concept of Mental Health Literacy (MHL) relies on our capacity to understand and recognize mental illnesses and the ability to maintain and promote a positive mentality for ourselves and others. In our review, we aim to examine the level of MHL among healthcare providers in the Arab Gulf States.

PubMed, PsycINFO, Medline were searched till August 2019. Studies were included if at least one of the main components of mental health literacy was reported, including (a) knowledge of mental illnesses, (b) stigma toward mental illnesses, (c) confidence in helping patients, and (d) behavior of helping patients, regardless of study design. The risk of bias was rated according to the modified Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment Scale for cross-sectional studies.

Seven studies were included in the review; all of them were cross-sectional, with a total of 3516 participants from the healthcare system. Overall most of the studies claimed limited knowledge, negative attitudes, behavior and/or confidence among nurses, pharmacists, and physicians, especially juniors. However, the overall quality of all outcomes was relatively very low.

More high-quality evidence and in-depth qualitative studies are required to bridge the gap between mental health needs and services delivered by healthcare providers in the Gulf Arab region.

Nonintubated uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) is a recent controversial procedure in many countries. Hence, the authors would like to present the experience in performing this approach and evaluate its initial results in the treatment, particularly, of intrathoracic diseases in Vietnam.

A prospective, descriptive study was conducted on 17 patients with intrathoracic diseases treated with nonintubated uniportal VATS from February to July 2019. Preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative parameters were gathered and analyzed by SPSS Statistics, Version 18.0.

Patients had an average age of 49.2 ± 20.5 (range 6 to 71) years. Regarding operative indications and methods, there were 3 ground glass opacity (17.6%) and 1 bullous lung disease receiving wedge resection (5.9%); 8 mediastinal tumors (47.1%) having resection, and 5 non-small-cell lung cancers receiving lobectomy combined with node dissection (29.4%). selleck inhibitor The average operative time and pleural drainage time were 108.6 ± 28.17 min (range 60 to 160) and 3.7 ± 1.18 days (range 2 to 8), respectively. The average hospitalization time was 4.9 ± 1.76 (range 3 to 12) days. No mortalities or major complications were recorded postoperatively.

Nonintubated uniportal VATS is a safe and considerable surgical choice for appropriate intrathoracic conditions.

Magnesium sulfate is standard of care for prevention of eclampsia in women with preeclampsia with severe features. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology endorses its use throughout labor, delivery and the immediate postpartum period. Some providers pause magnesium sulfate infusion preoperatively due to concern for increased risk of uterine atony and postpartum hemorrhage. Using a non-inferiority analysis, we investigated the effect of interrupted versus continuous infusion of magnesium sulfate on postpartum hemorrhage in women with preeclampsia with severe features undergoing cesarean delivery.

Retrospective non-inferiority cohort study of women with preeclampsia with severe features treated with magnesium sulfate undergoing cesarean delivery with singleton pregnancies at tertiary care hospital from 2013 to 2018. The primary outcome was postpartum hemorrhage. Secondary outcomes included estimated blood loss, change in hematocrit and a composite of postpartum hemorrhage severity, including tranmpsia with severe features undergoing cesarean delivery.

Interrupted magnesium sulfate infusion is non-inferior to continued magnesium sulfate infusion for rates of postpartum hemorrhage in women with preeclampsia with severe features undergoing cesarean delivery.Morphological identification of the commonest Indian freshwater calanoid copepod Heliodiaptomus viduus has been facing a lot of controversies. To solve this problem, additional molecular support is needed. Hence, molecular analysis, along with morphological identification of the species using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and optical microscopy, was carried out. The genetic distance between the intraspecific sequences in the 18SrRNA observed to be 0.000, while the interspecific distance within genus sequences varied from 0.000 to 0.002. Besides, it was noted that both the sequences (intraspecific) were present within a single clade of the phylogenetic trees with 100% bootstrap value. The genetic distance between the intraspecific sequences in the mtCOI observed to be 0.000, while the interspecific distance within genus sequences varied from 0.000 to 0.267 and lay in a separate clade in the phylogenetic tree from the within genus clade. Besides, it was noted that both the sequences (intraspecific) were present within a single clade of the phylogenetic tree with above 75% bootstrap value. Hence, the 18S rRNA (MH145356, MK457456) and mtCOI (MK621900) gene sequences of the present study are well supported the identification of H. viduus and it serves as the first molecular database besides providing morphological authentication (SEM images) of H.viduus. This combined analysis is envisioned to be helpful in selecting the ecologically and nutritionally important species for practical aquaculture.Oral cavity cancer has a low 5-y survival rate, but outcomes improve when the disease is detected early. Cytology is a less invasive method to assess oral potentially malignant disorders relative to the gold-standard scalpel biopsy and histopathology. In this report, we aimed to determine the utility of cytological signatures, including nuclear F-actin cell phenotypes, for classifying the entire spectrum of oral epithelial dysplasia and oral squamous cell carcinoma. We enrolled subjects with oral potentially malignant disorders, subjects with previously diagnosed malignant lesions, and healthy volunteers without lesions and obtained brush cytology specimens and matched scalpel biopsies from 486 subjects. Histopathological assessment of the scalpel biopsy specimens classified lesions into 6 categories. Brush cytology specimens were analyzed by machine learning classifiers trained to identify relevant cytological features. Multimodal diagnostic models were developed using cytology results, lesion characteristics, and risk factors.
