The convenience and practicality of this technique suggest a great prospect for highly specific sensing of the complete class of CWAs with fast and accurate results in real-time scenarios with a sensitivity much below their lethal dose.Electrochemical capacitors charge and discharge more rapidly than batteries over longer cycles, but their practical applications remain limited due to their significantly lower energy densities. Pseudocapacitors and hybrid capacitors have been developed to extend Ragone plots to higher energy density values, but they are also limited by the insufficient breadth of options for electrode materials, which require materials that store alkali metal cations such as Li+ and Na+. Herein, we report a comprehensive and systematic review of emerging anion storage materials for performance- and functionality-oriented applications in electrochemical and battery-capacitor hybrid devices. The operating principles and types of dual-ion and whole-anion storage in electrochemical and hybrid capacitors are addressed along with the classification, thermodynamic and kinetic aspects, and associated interfaces of anion storage materials in various aqueous and non-aqueous electrolytes. The charge storage mechanism, structure-property correlation, and electrochemical features of anion storage materials are comprehensively discussed. The recent progress in emerging anion storage materials is also discussed, focusing on high-performance applications, such as dual-ion- and whole-anion-storing electrochemical capacitors in a symmetric or hybrid manner, and functional applications including micro- and flexible capacitors, desalination, and salinity cells. However, the application of AIE dots in sensing and imaging of enzymes in cells remains at an early stage and needs to be further explored. In this report, we proposed a novel AIE-dot-based nanoprobe for hyaluronidase (HAase) detection using a simple electrostatic self-assembly of AIE dots with gold nanoparticles functionalized using hyaluronic acid (HA-AuNPs), named HA-AuNPs@AIEDs. The fluorescence of AIE dots can be obviously quenched by HA-AuNPs via fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). HAase could degrade HA into small pieces and thus induce disassembly of AuNPs and AIEDs, accompanied by fluorescence recovery of AIEDs. The as-prepared nanoprobe exhibited high sensitivity, excellent selectivity, wide response range and desirable anti-interference for quantitative sensing of HAase in vitro. The detection limit was down to 0.0072 U mL-1. Moreover, the nanoprobe displayed good biocompatibility and excellent photostability, and thus offered a practicable “turn-on” strategy for specific, high-contrast fluorescence imaging of HAase in live tumor cells. The AIE-based nanoprobe may provide a novel universal platform for recognition and imaging of HAase in tumors, and may be beneficial for related biological research.We generated a novel G-quadruplex (G4)-specific endonuclease by fusing a G4 recognition domain of the RHAU helicase with a cleavage domain of the Fok1 nuclease. The fusion protein can specifically bind a parallel G4 and cleave a double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) next to it. The new endonuclease could be used to detect a G4 in a long dsDNA, providing a useful tool for mapping the formation of G4s in the genome.Detection of trace amounts of poorly water-soluble pharmaceuticals or related (bio)solutions represents a key challenge in environment protection and clinical diagnostics. In this work, we present an alternative approach on the basis of an on-line flow extraction procedure and SERS measurements performed in a microfluidic regime. The advantages of our approach were demonstrated using ibuprofen (Ibu), which is considered as a common pharmaceutical contaminant in wastewater and should be monitored in various bioliquids. The extraction of Ibu from water to the dichloromethane phase was performed with an optimized microfluidic mixer architecture. As SERS tags, lipophilic functionalized gold multibranched nanoparticles (AuMs) were added to the organic phase. After microfluidic extraction, Ibu was captured by the functionalized AuM surface and recognized by on-line SERS measurements with up to 10-8 M detection limit. see more The main advantages of the proposed approach can be regarded as its simplicity, lack of need for preliminary sample preparation, high reliability, the absence of sample pretreatment, and low detection limits.
The COVID-19 pandemic was declared in early 2020, requiring different prevention and intervention measures on a large scale. In the case of Colombia, a series of measures focused on isolation and remote services provision were introduced in a context marked by health inequities. This article reviews the theoretical and normative references on primary care interventions in the Colombian response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A literature review was conducted in PubMed, LILACS, MEDLINE, and official documents and regulations issued in Colombia, the World Health Organization, and the Pan American Health Organization. A narrative synthesis was done of 33 documents based on their contribution to the implementation of primary care in Colombia and their role in the pandemic.
The information was organized into two categories Actions taken in Colombia in response to COVID-19 and Opportunities in primary care in response to COVID-19. Colombias actions were contrasted with world experience. Better pandemic control was found in countries that adopted primary care as a response.
