Compared with other soft active materials used for 4D printing, shape-memory polymers (SMPs) have higher stiffness, and are compatible with various 3D printing technologies. Among them, ultraviolet (UV)-curable SMPs are compatible with Digital Light Processing (DLP)-based 3D printing to fabricate SMP-based structures with complex geometry and high-resolution. However, UV-curable SMPs have limitations in terms of mechanical performance, which significantly constrains their application ranges. Here, a mechanically robust and UV-curable SMP system is reported, which is highly deformable, fatigue resistant, and compatible with DLP-based 3D printing, to fabricate high-resolution (up to 2 µm), highly complex 3D structures that exhibit large shape change (up to 1240%) upon heating. More importantly, the developed SMP system exhibits excellent fatigue resistance and can be repeatedly loaded more than 10 000 times. The development of the mechanically robust and UV-curable SMPs significantly improves the mechanical performance of the SMP-based 4D printing structures, which allows them to be applied to engineering applications such as aerospace, smart furniture, and soft robots.A Cp*Ir(III) complex (1) of a newly designed ligand L1 featuring a proton-responsive pyridyl(benzamide) appended on N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) has been synthesized. The molecular structure of 1 reveals a dearomatized form of the ligand. The protonation of 1 with HBF4 in tetrahydrofuran gives the corresponding aromatized complex BF4 (2). Falls among inpatients continue to threaten patient safety in the hospital. Nurses may have the greatest impact on reducing patient falls. However, little is known about whether nurses’ personal resilience is associated with patients’ fall prevention strategies.
The study employed a descriptive mixed-methods design combining quantitative (questionnaires) and qualitative (observations, semi-structured interviews).
One major theme, from maintaining routine to taking control over patients’ falls, and three subthemes, scepticism, anticipation and proactivity representing feelings, cognitions and behaviours characterizing high- versus low-resilience nurses emerged from the findings.
Three successive resilience strategies, starting with hunches that elicit scepticism, through cognitions of anticipation the worst-case scenario that could happen to the patient, and concluding with proactive behaviours characterize resilient nurses, helping them to prevent patients’ falls.

Trichosporonosis is an emerging fungal infection caused by Trichosporon species, a genus of yeast-like fungi, which are frequently encountered in human infections ranging from mild cutaneous lesions to fungemia in immunocompromised patients. The incidence of trichosporonosis has increased in recent years, owing to higher numbers of individuals at risk for this infection. Although amphotericin B, posaconazole and isavuconazole are generally effective against Trichosporon species, some isolates may have variable susceptibility to these antifungals.
Herein, we evaluated the species distribution, genetic diversity and antifungal susceptibility profiles of Trichosporon isolates in Iran.
The yeasts were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). Phylogenetic analysis was performed based on amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP). The in vitro susceptibilities of eight antifungal agents were analysed using the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute broth microdilution methods.
The isolates belonged to the species Tasahii (n=20), Tjaponicum (n=4) and Tfaecale (n=3). A dendrogram of the AFLP analysis demonstrated that Tasahii and non-asahii Trichosporon strains (Tjaponicum and Tfaecale) are phylogenetically distinct. While voriconazole was the most active agent (GM MIC=0.075μg/ml), high fluconazole MICs (8μg/ml) were observed for a quarter of Trichosporon isolates. The GM MIC value of amphotericin B for Tasahii and non-asahii Trichosporon species was 0.9μg/ml.
The distribution and antifungal susceptibility patterns of the identified Trichosporon species could inform therapeutic choices for treating these emerging life-threatening fungi.
