She required a 2-stage revision procedure with massive allograft. At 1 year after these procedures, the patient is able to walk without a walking aid and does not report groin pain or present signs of dislocation, and radiographs show no loosening of the implant. CONCLUSIONS This case highlights that medial wall post-THA PIF can occur along with pubic/ischial fractures, which mask the symptoms of the medial wall fracture. We also reviewed the current literature and discussed the diagnostic strategy to be applied when suspecting this rare injury.BACKGROUND Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is an effective treatment for coronary heart disease. However, a lack of cardiac rehabilitation and continuous nursing management leads to repeated patient hospitalizations. Long-term systematic rehabilitation and nursing management after discharge are key to ensuring quality of treatment and patient quality of life. selleck chemicals llc This study aimed to explore the application of the WeChat platform in continuous nursing after PCI. MATERIAL AND METHODS This was a retrospective case-control study. The clinical data of 63 patients in our cardiac center who underwent PCI between June 2017 and January 2018 were recorded. Patients were divided into 2 groups the continuous nursing through the WeChat platform (intervention) group and the conventional nursing (control) group. The Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), and Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ) were used as the evaluation tools. RESULTS The SAQ scores in all 5 SAQ dimensions in the continuous nursing group were significantly higher than those of the control group at the 1-year follow-up. Scores on the SAS and SDS scales at 1-year follow-up were significantly better in the intervention group than in the control group. The SAS and SDS scores in both groups were better at the 1-year follow-up, but the difference was statistically significant in the continuous nursing group and not in the control group. CONCLUSIONS Using the WeChat platform can make continuous nursing more convenient and effective for patients after PCI. It may reduce the occurrence of complications, relieve patient depression and anxiety, and improve patient quality of life.Since December 2019, the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) emerged in Wuhan and rapidly spread throughout the world. There are nearly 3 951 905 confirmed cases of novel coronary pneumonia and more than 275 067 deaths worldwide, . A great number of patients contracted SARS-Cov-2 pneumonia (COVID-19). SARS-CoV-2 invades human target cells through receptor angiotensin-converting enzyme II (ACE2), which are expressed in the lung, kidney, and ileum and mediate inflammatory responses and immune activities. High plasma levels of proinflammatory cytokines were detected in the infected patients. These factors may predispose transplant patients to high risk of poor outcomes. Therefore, transplant patients might be affected by this coronavirus infection and protection of allografts should receive special attention during this outbreak. In the present study we attempt to delineate the transplant-related biology of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Clinical equivalence of generic antiviral agents for chronic hepatitis B (CHB) has not been demonstrated, particularly in cases with previous antiviral resistance. Entecavir 1 mg is prescribed frequently as a mono- or combination therapy in antiviral-resistant CHB patients. This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of switching to generic entecavir 1 mg (Baracle
) in CHB patients taking brand-name entecavir 1 mg (Baraclude
) alone or in combination with other nucleotide analogs after the development of antiviral resistance.
This study was a single-arm prospective study. The primary endpoint was undetectable HBV DNA (<20 IU/mL) at 12 months after switching treatment. The biochemical and serologic responses, virologic breakthrough, and antiviral resistance rates were also evaluated.
Forty CHB patients with undetectable HBV DNA through the brand-name entecavir 1 mg treatment as a mono- or combination therapy after developing antiviral resistance to nucleos(t)ide analogs were enrolled in this study. No significant difference in the HBV DNA non-detection rate was observed between the baseline and 12 months after switching therapy (p=0.324). Furthermore, non-inferiority of the generic entecavir 1 mg to the brand-name entecavir 1 mg with 10% margin in maintaining undetectable HBV DNA was demonstrated (95% CI -2.80 to 8.20%). Similarly, no difference in the biochemical response rate was observed after switching therapy. Serum hepatitis B e antigen loss was observed in 12.5%. No virologic breakthrough was reported.
Generic entecavir 1 mg is a reasonable alternative to the brand-name entecavir 1 mg in antiviral-resistant CHB patients with viral suppression.

Non-targeted antidepressants have low efficacy and can induce series of side effects. While a neuropeptide, melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH), is known to exhibit regulator of affective state, no study to date has assessed the anti-depressive effects of MCH in a stress-induced depression model. This study aimed to evaluate the pharmacological effects of intranasal administration of MCH on depression-related behavior in stressed rats and mice. Using a number of behavioral tests, we found that MCH treatment significantly decreased anxiety- and depressive-like behaviors induced by stress. Notably, the effects of MCH were equivalent to those of fluoxetine. MCH treatment also restored the activity of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway and normalized the levels of synaptic proteins, including postsynaptic density 95, glutamate receptor 1, and synapsin 1, which were all downregulated by stress. Interestingly, the protective effects of MCH were blocked by the mTOR inhibitor, rapamycin. These results suggest that MCH exhibits antidepressant properties by modulating the mTOR pathway. Altogether, this study provides an insight into the molecular mechanisms involved in the antidepressant-like effects of MCH, thereby paving the way for the future clinical application of MCH.
